Leaving Facebook

Two days ago I made the decision to leave Facebook after the revelations of the last few weeks from the press about Facebook. I suppose I already knew that being on the site meant I was giving my permission to be tracked in great detail but after all that has been revealed I really could not feel comfortable. I closed my account and have 14 days until Facebook will finally delete my history and account. Will this really happen? I suppose I have to trust them.
The next big question is my attachment to the world of Google which I use so much with storage on Google drive, email at Gmail, navigation through Waze and Google maps, searching via Chrome and lately using Google Home and Chromecast for entertainment.... Can I give these up? Probably not.
